Take a look at this article for an overview of information on effective meal plans for six pack abs programs.<br/><br/>When people want to get a six pack abs, they tend to spend all of their time doing hundreds or thousands of crunches. For now, lets ignore the fact that this workout style isn&#8217;t going to even produce the best results. Instead, look at all of your workouts from the perspective that they are only half of the battle towards reaching your goal.<br/><br/>In order to build muscle in your abdominal muscles, you have to have enough protein in your diet to sustain that muscle growth. Protein is the fuel that muscles require in order to be built, repaired and maintained, and therefore protein is a huge component of meal plans in a six pack abs programs. You should try to get around one gram of protein per pound of body mass to ensure you can effectively build muscle.<br/><br/>Another thing you have to think about specifically for your abs is that they happen to be located in a region where your body is most prone to storing fat. That means even if you build up great strength and muscle size in your core region, you still might not have a six pack because all of your muscle is hidden underneath layers of fat.<br/><br/>This brings us to the second key factor in meal plans of a six pack abs program, and that&#8217;s the fact that you have to watch what you eat in order to burn off extra fat. This means maintaining a diet that is going to keep your metabolism working at the fastest rate. This can be done by eating many smaller meals spread throughout the day as opposed to a few larger ones.<br/><br/>Incorporating protein into every meal or snack you eat is also another smart way to make the most out of the calories you intake, as mentioned above. Cut down on heavily processed junk foods, and on days that you don&#8217;t workout, lower your caloric intake by 10-20%. On days you workout, keep your caloric intake the same but as discussed, be sure that you fill up on protein.<br/><br/>Meal plans for a six pack abs program don&#8217;t have to be overly complicated, however, they are a necessary component towards getting the body of your dreams. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Whether you want your abs be smooth and toned or you want them to pop out like giant raviolis, ab workouts are an important part of stealing glances from the opposite sex on the beach. Unfortunately, I&#8217;m going to let you in on some bad news in a second. But first, here are some easy ab workouts:</p>
<p><strong>Crunches: Upper Abs</strong><br />The good old fashioned crunch. There are three varieties depending on how strong you are. </p>
<p>First, lay down on your back with your legs at a 45 degree angle. Suck in your belly for the duration of the exercise.</p>
<p>Next cross your arms over your chest. Use your stomach to pull your shoulders off the ground a couple of inches. </p>
<p>Then, lower yourself back down while keeping your belly sucked in.</p>
<p>Do this 15-20 times.</p>
<p>When this gets easy, move your hands to the side of your head. When that gets easy, hold your above your head parallel to the floor.</p>
<p><strong>Reverse Crunches: Lower Abs</strong><br />Lay on your back with your legs straight in the air and your knees slightly bent. Suck in your belly for the duration of the exercise.</p>
<p>You may put your arms at your side or behind your head.</p>
<p>Use your stomach to push your legs straight up into the air slightly. Hold for a second, and come back down</p>
<p>Make sure you don&#8217;t overextend and hurt your back.</p>
<p>Do this 15-20 times.</p>
<p><strong>Torso Twists: Obliques</strong><br />Begin this exercise sitting or standing with good posture. Get a bar or stick you can put on your shoulders to rest your arms on.</p>
<p>As always, suck your belly in.</p>
<p>Slowly and deliberately turn (twist) as far to the right as possible, as if you were looking right.</p>
<p>Return to the starting position and pause. Then go to the left.</p>
<p>Do this 15-20 times.</p>
<p><strong>Plank: Transverse Abs</strong><br />This one&#8217;s a little tricky if you&#8217;ve never done it before. You&#8217;re going to rest your elbows and forearms on the ground parallel to each other, your head directly above your forearms.</p>
<p>Next stretch your body out straight with only your toes supporting your lower body. So all that&#8217;s supporting you are your elbows, forearms, and toes.</p>
<p>Make sure your body is straight. Hold this position for 20-60 seconds.</p>
<p>Do this 2-5 times.</p>
<p><strong>Mix and Match</strong><br />Do 2-3 sets of each of these exercises 2-3 times per week. Mix them up to keep them interesting, and there you have it: easy ab workouts.</p>
<p>Remember that bad news I had for you earlier. Here it is: doing easy ab workouts are important to getting a sexy midsection, but they&#8217;re not as important as you think.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s important. Don&#8217;t get me wrong. There are a ton of benefits to having a strong core, and they&#8217;re going to help you in your quest to lose your love handles.</p>
<p>But losing the fat that&#8217;s covering your abs is much much more important than doing crunches. You can do this with the right diet program and doing strength training for your bigger muscle groups.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With every workout, training only goes so far before your muscles get used to the exercises and stop developing. And this applies to the abdominals as well, because they are just like any other muscle group in your body. So what are some <a rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);" href="http://abexercisescenter.com/killer-ab-workout/">killer ab workouts</a>? As the abs are similar to other muscle types, they should be trained in a similar fashion. You can apply the same techniques that you use with other muscles. Muscles only grow if they are stressed, or &#8216;shocked&#8217;. There are a few ways of doing this and the technique is called Progressive Overload.</p>
<p>You can start with low reps on exercises like situps, knees to the chest and crunches. Gradually build u to higher reps. This is effective as it uses your own body weight, but there will come a point where you will need to do something to work against gravity, and by adding a stability ball you will get that desired effect.</p>
<p>To really get your muscles to &#8216;pop&#8217; with killer ab workouts, try different weighted movement exercises. Using a heavy dumbell on a stability ball is an effective technique.</p>
<p>Results in the lower abs can take longer, and a lot of the time there is more focus on the upper abs. You should work both these muscle groups at the same time. Exercises that concentrate on the lower part of the abdominals include lying leg raises on incline and no incline, and also full vertical leg raises. If you are not sure what these are ask an instructor at your gym.</p>
<p>Frequency and intensity are great killer ab workouts. The important component is suprise and variety. Try changing between intensity and overload.</p>
<p>It is not a good idea to concentrate just on th upper, as you should be doing exercises on both upper and lower abs at the same time. There are exercises that will work in on the lower portion of the abdominals. These include; lying leg raises, as well as lying leg raises on incline. <p>One question that I have contemplated a lot lately is whether women ab workouts can be the same as men. I have looked at several popular exercise programs sponsored by some of the most well known fitness experts.  My opinion is that while they are similar, there are some differences, but the end result is always the same.  Great looking abs on a better looking body.</p>
<p>But ladies, have you looked for effective women&#8217;s ab workouts to permanently lose the belly fat that makes you want to hide your body under oversized clothes?  It may be a fact that our body shape may be somewhat genetic, but most of our bodies will respond to a program of diet and exercise to help us achieve the body we want people to look at.  There are three things I believe we need to consider.</p>
<p>The first thing is that all the gizmos and diet supplements that are supposed to work wonders with your body will have little effect without some personal effort.  Great looking abs and a better looking body comes with exercise and a reasonable diet that addresses the whole body.  The abs are an important part of looking good and ab exercises that work should be vigorous and only a part of your overall fitness program.  </p>
<p>The second thing you should do is to eat to increase the metabolism to a higher level.  Yes, I said eat.  What I mean by that is that you should eat several smaller meals during the day to keep your metabolism at a higher rate.  Make your snacks consist of baby carrots, sweet potato slices or similar crunchy veggies.  I have been called a &#8220;grazer&#8221; because I eat four to six small meals or snacks every day.  Grazers will not feel hungry even though your total caloric intake is less and you will have more energy because your metabolism is higher.  Higher metabolism equals more fat burned by the body resulting in a total weight loss.</p>
<p>The last thing is to find or develop an exercise program that includes ab workouts and cardio exercise as part of the overall package.  Targeting the large muscles and working consistently will caus a significant weight loss and better looking abs will be part of the total look.</p>
<p>I suppose I should address a concern that many women have expressed many times over the years.  The &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to become muscle-bound&#8221; idea.  Believe me, you will not build up a lot of muscles or become muscle bound unless you want to.  The reason that you appear to be building muscles is that the layer of fat that covered your body is reducing and your muscle definition is more apparent.  Exercise will strengthen and define your muscles, not make them bigger.</p>
