If you love Shaun t , you will love it, it gets you moving and the 30 mins go so fast, he is such a fun motivator,it has alot of his similiar moves, but the music is different and fun and highly motivational,I would definitely recommend it for a different change of pace.

At first, I was only going by the one review that was posted. I ended up trying it out in like.. june. I know, I am just barely writing a review.

I have been meaning to write a review for Hip-Hop Abs because I really think it helped me lose the baby weight which so far have been 20 lbs!

It did take some time because I am a full time student. But I would try to work out when my son was sleeping or when he went to bed. I love Hip-Hop and I would take hip hop dance classes when I could at school, so I am very glad Shaun thought this up! However, some of his moves are aerobic-y, but overall, I love this method of working out.

Even when I was overweight, I felt the benefit of: Hip, Buns, and Thighs/ Total Body Burn/ and the 5min ab blasters. I guess that those were the only ones I felt like I was really working out. Even though being overweight, the DVD set I bought, I felt that the workouts were way too slow. Thats y I bought this. And I wish I would of bought this and the ones I like instead of the whole DVD set cause the other ones are just gathering dust.

    ROCKIN’ ABS–> 42:50

    Warmup: Pump and Walk (2:40)

Rock it Out/ Robo (2min)– the Robo is a great move!!

Press the Heel- like press the floor w/more emphasis

    J Flava Combo(J Rock/Up Rock/Busy Hoppin’)-(4min) 2x w/like 2 5sec break

    Flava Hook-(2 min)emphasized

Washing Machine- blends it with J Flava Combo n Flava Hk. Do it about 3x

Hip Hop Extreme Combo(Capo Slide/Flat Back Ripper/Hammer Slide)- u use weights. great cuz it adds resistance. i did 2lb weights per hand

360 Extreme- Shaun has you jump up in the air

Frat Step Extreme- I thought this was kinda easy..chill xP

Rock the Horse Extreme- this is another good move!

Get Down Combo-(Drill Extreme/Plank Control/Twist & Ouch/Hip Hop Triceps/Hammer Low/Roll Around) about 8 min. You use weights for majority. The Drill Extreme is the one that you go down and do almost like push-ups.

*Had a remix of Pon-De-Replay on the Get Down Combo

    Hard Body–> 35:22

    (Uses similar moves: pump&walk, robo

    Fly and Drive-use weights

Turntables- this is a good move with weights. very hip hop i think

    Run Bounce-weights

    LiL’ Busy-weights

    Roll Out-weights

Rainbow- weights. good move for the arms

The meeting-weights. hands and knees meet.

Jiggy Scoop-weights. eh.. this move you jump which is good. i hate but love this move haha. i always hated doing this move when i did hard body

Hook- the hook was combined w/jiggy scoop. u use weights but i felt it was tae-bo ish.

Rise Up- the guys and girl starting saying ‘ooh..’ when they did it..eh. a bit cheesy..but whatever xP

Wobble- I lovee this move. very hip hop and u use weights. GREAT move

Rock it Out-crazy move for the arms

Sculpt your Body Combo(Afro Slide/Lunge Bounce/Sexy Abs/Frat Punch)- I thought the music for this combo was a great choice. it was energizing. I didn’t care too much about sexy abs. I don’t need to roll my hips to get a good workout xP. I thought Frat Punch was great cause you try to lower your back while you extend your arms straight.

*Hmm..I didn’t realize this one had mostly weights xP. There was “In Da Club” remix in a part of the exercise

    Overall:

I would definitely purchase this! Especially for those that want higher impact! About 3x I had to do it without the weights to get use to the exercise routine. But doing it without the weights at the given times..is really not getting the true benefit of the workout.

I don’t think someone would find it very difficult to learn this.. but I have seen my 50 yr old mom do it and I’m sorry..but she does do it fobby style haha.

The picture quality is better that the older ones and the music is MUCH better. I can workout with this and not have to listen to my mp3 player. There are more mixes than actual songs even though..yes.. there are two songs on the DVD. I think Shaun improved on this a lot.

There is another guy in it named Shawn B. that was not in the original and he is pretty cute. And both Shawn’s have their shirts off.. nice! xD

    Negative:

This DVD isn’t perfect, but I think the negative stuff is little things, but for someone that notices things..yyeah.

On Rockin’ Abs- in the beginning during the Pump & Walk, Shaun said “ohh..Kelly messed up” and I did find that distracting because I didn’t really see what she did wrong

On Hard Body- I think during LiL Busy, Sean V. messed up and it was pretty noticeable, so I don’t know if that would throw ppl off

There were two new girls: Melanie and Kristin. Kristin was more distracting because her outfit colors were very..not matching..at least what I think. Plus she was the tallest girl, which didn’t help her ‘blending’ in. I think Melanie just stands out cause she wasn’t in the other DVDs and I guess her facial expressions.

I guess I expect this DvD to not have any mistakes.. you know what I mean. You would think they would edit out the dancers messin’ up or have more easy-on-the-eyes-outfits.

My friend finally started working out when her son was a year old and I gave her all of my DvDs to try and she liked this one and Total Body Burn. She sayssss that she is not a good dancer, but she said that she was able to get the hang of it < a week I believe, cause I gave it to her for 2 weeks to try.

Hip Hob Abs – Dance Party – (Rockin’ Abs & Hard Body)
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
    Ok,

So I loved these workouts since I’ve gotten them. I had the first Hip Hop Abs series you see on television. The deal for those was just so sweet and I figured why not try it. :)

I loved that first series!! So I was super hopeful for this one.

When you first start working out and stuff with the videos, unless you’ve taken dance classes, you may feel like a bit of a doof trying to do these pretty cool moves, but eventually (like 2 workouts) you’ll feel good and can do them fine. You totally feel like you’re there and Shaun T is just super funny.

Ok. ok.. so about this workout.

The First workout I did was Rockin’ Abs. Let me tell you the difference between the first set of DVDs and the Dance Party series is significant. The moves are almost all new and it starts out fast. If you have the foundation of the first videos you’ll be fine though. The music is really good too. I didn’t recognize any of the songs from the radio, but I enjoyed them.

The workout itself is challenging. You do some floor work, but one of the hardest exercises was when you do a push up and at the same time you extend your leg out to the side and you do it on tempo (those who do these DVDs know what that means). For those who don’t want to do that move, like me on the first try, Tonya does a simplified move for us.

The workout is great and you can totally feel the ab workout. The floor routine isn’t that hard, but you do get a nice stretch. All and all a great workout.

Then there’s the Hardbody workout. It’s 100% delicious!

Great music, great moves, high energy and you’ll be smiling through most of it, while you’re able to learn new moves. I loved this workout!!! It worked out the upper body and the lower body, but I’d say it’s more of an upper body (arms and abs than lower body). You totally get your cardio in and you will probably sweat.

I really, really loved this video a lot. Like the other video (don’t think I mentioned it) but you can use your weighted gloves or the weights. I’d wait to use both until you know the moves (if you think that’s not heavy enough.

    Hope this helped!

I bought this DVD since two people mentioned that the music is good.

Well! I must say that I was very disappointed with the music.

The rocking abs workout was just ok simple cardio. I like the hard body workout better it involves doing cardio with light weights or weighted gloves. This workout is more effective.

Shaun is on target with his workout ideas. He knows exactly what we need and he is giving it to us. CHANGE FROM THE OLD BORING MACHINES AT THE GYM. He just really need to work on the music selections and everything will be all right.

Updated 4/11/09 — After doing both workouts all week the music is growing on me. I am feeling the music now it really blends with the moves. I am really enjoy doing both of the workouts. They are fun.

However, to me the Rockin body workout DVD is where Shaun come alive music wise. I love the disco groove and rock it out workouts.

I am anxiously waiting to see what Shaun is coming with next.

Shaun who? Sorry but if you want to WORK OUT than that is what it is, WORK, Tony is the name you want on your WORKOUT DVDs, that’s Tony Horton and P90X is your WORKOUT program, if you want to learn how to dance then Shaun T’s your man. I tried this funny little DVD and after 20 minutes my heart beat was still at sleep mode and sweating just isn’t in this program, I Stopped this nonsense and after only 5 minuets of Tony’s 10 minuet trainer I was drenched in sweet and my heart was about to explode out of my chest. There is no easy way to get is shape, it is WORK. And Tony Horton’s programs are designed to give you full body workout, no easy way around it. If you want that six pack you got to get on the floor, sorry to all you cheaters, but the trick is technique and form. Keep Shaun T for those club nights

i think it's because most girls when they see a lot of muscle they think "self-absorbed" and they don't even give the guy a chance. maybe when your not a the gym you should go out. Like to the beach or something. The best advice i can give you is be friendly when your out and approach people nicely and stuff without being too intimidating.
