It really does take only 15 minutes!

I have several of Ms. Pagano’s fitness books, but I’m not very good at following a book so I use them as a great resource. Then she came out with the Strength Training cards which were much easier for me to follow. BUT, the books with the dvds are even greater! Now I don’t have to take time memorize the moves of each exercise or the number of repetitions. Even with all my tips and guides I still needed it to be even easier. Now I understand why a friend of mine was so addicted to her exercise videos years ago. All you have to do is make some room in front of your tv! The other things I really like about 15 Minute Abs Workout are the FAQs for each section and the risk management assessment form. Seems like every time I try something new I over-do and then don’t get back into a routine because of pain. Filling this out was a reminder for me to take it slow at first.

    The best 15 minutes yet!

As a chiropractor, I am constantly educating my patients on the importance of strengthening their core. One of the best features of this book is careful explanation of the different muscles of the abdomen and how to target them using proper form and execution.

The Q and A sections are very helpful and the author devotes one entire Q and A section to explaining the concept of “core training”. This sheds light on the importance of training the muscles of the trunk to function as a unit to support the spine and maintain its proper alignment.

Thanks, Joan, this is the best 15 minutes yet!

I have been a fan of Joan’s books since discovering the first one, Strength Training for Women. I love her books. They are all well written and beautifully illustrated. She has a real talent to relate to the reader, clearly explaining the form and benefits of each exercise.

15 Minute Abs with its accompanying DVD is a prime example of that talent. The routines in this book and DVD are very easy to follow. I have noticed a significant improvement in my mid-section in the last 5 weeks following these exercises three times a week. 15 Minute Abs is a great book.

Over the past 7 years, I always made time for an aerobic workout. It wasn’t until recently that I realized strength training and core workouts are just as important. I have read several of Joan’s other books and was thrilled to find her “15 Minute Abs Workout.” This book is all about strengthening your core muscles and perfectly complements her “15 Minute Total Body Workout.” This DVD/book combo consists of 4 -15 minute workouts. The book should be read before attempting the DVD. Some of the exercises have such slight movement that on the DVD it’s hard to tell exactly what is being done. For example, the pelvic tilt. From the DVD it’s hard to see the movement. The book explains that the model is flattening her lower back to the floor. Once you figure that out, you can see it in the DVD, but without reading the book you wouldn’t know how to perform this exercise correctly.

Once you read the book, you are ready to go! Little equipment and space is needed so it can be done just about anywhere. This is perfect for people who travel so they don’t miss workouts while they are away from home. All the workouts start with a warm-up then get into the actual ab work and end with a cool down/stretching. It never seems impossible to do. And if you do struggle (or are not feeling challenged), it explains how to adjust the exercise to your level. Form is emphasized more than anything: it’s not about how many crunches you can, it’s about doing them correctly.

I highly recommend this book for anyone: from novice to professional. The only requirement: the desire to improve your body and life! This book/DVD covers all basis of a core workout and won’t disappoint.

This book is must for all you couch potatoes that have no time for exercise.Easy to follow format with simple but informative text and clean photos. The bonus DVD gives good straightforward instruction with moments of incentive along with music that keeps the beat up but doesn’t distract. Should turn this flab to ab in no time.A+++

    Seniors, Work Out!

Joan Pagano’s book and DVD “15 Minute Abs Workout” have been sitting on my book shelf for a few months now, all because I’m a senior citizen who sports a slow start button. FINALLY I blew the dust from this bible and started to follow the DVD with determination, whining a bit at first, of course. But, now, after only 3 weeks of regular practice, I feel like a new person. I still have a way to go, but I’m motivated; I also plan to refer back to Ms. Pagano’s earlier books to work on my quads, currently aching from my back-to-bicycling efforts. Senior citizens, get moving. I’ve learned that, physically and mentally, a little bit of concentrated exercise goes a long way to making life increasingly satisfying. I count Joan Pagano’s abs book a great resource for getting the core in shape and a good place to start. Think good balance and flexible movement along with.. I can do it, I can do it, I can do it!

    Shape up for summer!

I purchased this book after having a great experience and results with Joan Pagano’s 15 Minute Total Body Work Out. I wanted something that would focus on helping me tone up my abs and truth be told, look great in my bikini this summer, especially since I’ll be on my honeymoon! Again, the 15 minute format goes by soooo quickly, but you actually do feel like you’re working your abs. The variety of exercises helps to reshape, tone your abs and strengthen your core. After starting two months ago I am seeing results – - stronger core, better posture, definition. I’ve combined the abs workout with regular cardio (walking, jogging, 30 minutes +, 5 times a week) and also I alternate with the total body work-out as well. Its also important to shed fat so that you can see results of your hard work(learned this valuable tip from the book!)

I also really like the format of Joan’s books – the DVD is so easy to follow and the book has info both on the exercises and Q & A sections (which have debunked a lot of myths for me!).

If you’re looking to firm up your abs and feel confident in a bikini or board shorts this summer, this is the book to get!

I’m finally through with doing large numbers of crunches in an effort

to improve my abs – slower is better, and changing things up is the

key. You can use this book to suit your needs: you can put the DVD in

and go to work immediately to get one of four abs workouts, including

a short warmup session, in the advertised 15 minutes. If you want to

dig a little deeper you can use the book to learn about the specific

muscles, read the FAQs, and get a fold-out overview of the sequence of

exercises for each workout. If you’re uncertain of the correct

procedures, you can also get a clear, detailed explanation of each

exercise and it’s purpose. I like to rotate the workouts on a daily or

weekly basis, so my abs are constantly challenged.

I like this book as much as her earlier book on strength training, which I still take to the gym with me. The DVD demonstrates all the sequences that she recommends. Her explanations for each exercise are well written and easy to follow. These are the only books on exercise that I’ve found can truly replace a trainer! It’s a great resource for women who are trying to get rid of mid-life belly fat!

I enjoyed reading your articles and like the GOYA approach! I am all for exercise and doing something about your circumstances and life. As a 58 year old Baby Boomer myself I have always been mindful of exercise and a sensible diet. Because of my past exposure to the Dutch Marines Special Forces, I have always been very aware of physical exercise in combination with how to control your mind and a proper diet. After more than 20 years of running my own Accountancy practices, I became a fitness instructor at 53. I have developed the 16 Minute Boomerang GYM, which is a low impact exercise regime which consists of four, 4 minute workouts with NO floor exercises. It has some good shoulder loosening exercises and is ideal for the Arthritis and Osteoporosis sufferer to get some exercise back into their lives. It has been tested by the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia to be 50% more effective than walking and works the whole body and also stimulates the right and left hemispheres of the brain for increased coordination, balance and concentration. It uses the Boomerang shaped Resistance Exerciser to work the upper half of the body, a “Lymph Pump” action movement to work the lower part of the body, a Deep Breathing technique to clear unwanted fat and improve energy and consists of a 70 minute instructional and workout quality DVD with beautiful Australian scenery and is accompanied by especially composed Australian nature music with a beat (It includes the sounds of the Australian Aboriginal Didgeridoos, Whip and Kookaburra birds) A world's first!
The BG is an exercise regimen to START the Baby Boomer exercising their body again! I also include my just finished book called Emotional Freedom as part of the package to help people overcome self sabotage when it comes to exercise and diets. Visit my website http://www.boomeranggym.com
